Cotton is a natural fiber from the cotton plant, a shrub of the Malvaceae family. Of the fifty species of cotton plants, only four are harvested for the white fibers that grow in bolls around its seeds. Among them, the Gossypium barbadense, from Barbados, boasts the most beautiful cotton threads in the world. Its flowers and fruits called “capsules”, blossom into an angelical white downy bud. The scent of cotton is fragile and pure.
